ABOUT IMPACT PROJECTS

IMPACT PROJECTS
At Albany Senior High School impact projects are chosen by students, for the purpose of giving back or helping out around our communities. We could also choose to develop skills as part of our impact projects. Every Wednesday at school we all work on our projects and develop our ideas with help from our peers and teachers. We also work outside of school e.g doing volunteer work. These continue for 1 semester and then you can choose to continue the project or change to something else you wish to do. For my impact project I am creating dog bandanas and gathering items that can be donated to help Chained Dogs NZ. Find out more about Chained Dogs below.
ABOUT ANIMAL SHELTERS

ADOPTING FROM SHELTERS
Animals in shelters are often labelled as having behavioural issues and because of this stereotype many animals who end up in shelters never get out. Adopting from shelters does not only save your new pets' life but also allows space for other animals in need to have a chance at finding a forever home. Shelters also provide medical care, spaying, training and more than often have more well behaved animals than ones in pet shops. So if you really want to help out, adopt from animal shelters instead of your local pet shop. Check out the link below to take a look at some of the animals up for adoption at chained dogs now.
Chained Dogs
Chained Dogs NZ is a shelter who helps life chained dogs. Life chained dogs are dogs that live with a lack of food, water, shelter, space and socialisation. They are often chained up all day and can be confined for long periods of time. For more information about Chained Dogs NZ see their website linked below.
